Combo designer/developer (more front-end). I am a generalist who can sketch and design your UI, turn that into a prototype, wire it to the backend and deploy it. Though I work best (fastest?) when I'm working on the front-end, I am not afraid to dive in and mess with models.
They can use their own email address, although a temporary @impressar.io address is built-in - just to add a layer of protection (against spam). If you reply to the @impressar.io address, it gets shown in the Messages section.
Send them over to bobby [at] impressar.io. Response has been good so far, I'm hoping people can make good use of it when the monthly "Who's hiring" thread comes out next week.
Thanks for the feedback. The churn rate is a concern, I'm hoping to discover useful features to add that can make the app more enticing to keep around.
Gnarly! Have you put much effort into publicizing the app yet? I had not heard of it until now, but think you've got something very nice there. Hope it gets plenty of attention, as this kind of thing sorta needs the "network effect" to be truly useful.
Just click the "Add my cofounder wish list" link in the home page. We're uploading the contents of the Google doc at the moment. Let me know if you encounter any errors.
We launched a similar app over the weekend (loved the idea of a cofounder meeting site), it's at http://findmycofounder.com/. We based the design on the comment thread (well, most of it). We added searching by geography, skills, primary focus, etc. It's an evolving thing, so suggestions are more than welcome.
Just a small critique:
I am usually in the camp of "more contrast please!", but seeing the results in pure black on white was jarring, especially with it being bold.
Might I recommend you lighten the black a bit or add some background color to reduce the contrast? (The yellow box at the top is more pleasing to the eye)
This looked very interesting, so we coded up an app based on some of the comments - it's at findmycofounder.com, more details on Twitter (@FindMyCofounder). We figured we could launch this in 24 hours or so, do try it out in a couple of hours.
