I think it would be extremely confusing for customers if the steam “Buy” button was renamed to “Rent” or “Lease”.

It would only be confusing because customers are currently being misled and the new label would no longer match their faulty mental model.

How could it be confusing when that's actually what happens? Imagine HN showed "Delete comment" instead of "Reply" under the comment input, don't you agree that be misleading?

how about "Purchase License"

The US is involved in too many wars to call them all the "US war".

Fair enough. That's a reasonable answer.

Yes for sure. It’s not easy to find reporting about the extent of attacks on either side of this war.

Comet in moominland is about them learning about a comet heading towards earth that they believe is going to kill them all.

It is fantastically bleak, with the sea drying up, and that doomsday prophet reminding them that everything will be destroyed. Then the comet somehow misses, which they react to with a sort of dreamy, "oh. Right." and even the cake moominmom bakes to celebrate that they're not all dead after all, gets ruined because that damn doomsday prophet sits on it.

Damn. Don’t look up, Moomins!

We don't even have to go that far to realize how quickly the democratic establishment would roll over in the face of a civil war. I don't think Chuck Schumer is going to be leading an armed resistance movement anytime soon.

Change my mind, but everyone's assumption that the Senate Minority Leader, of all people, is the de facto head of the democrats and would "lead" the opposition in a civil war is asinine – whether it's Chuck Schumer or whoever replaces him.

Yeah it’s infuriating to think about.

Kyle Reese?

They have to accept cash in the US as well. The post you're replying to is just saying that they can't ring anything up or accept any payment without power.

> They have to accept cash in the US as well.

Only in a handful of cities and states. There is no federal law requiring businesses to accept cash for goods and services.

Ah okay, that wasn't clear to me, I imagined only being able to use electronic payment types.

But in this case, an emergency, I would assume someone would still know how to take a manual payment receipt!

Thanks for your input "investguy1"

Don't need a super computer to do that hah
