I have this idea of a data platform for individuals (with graphQL like APIs with smooth developer experience). Think of simplify, social sign-ons, common application, plaid, as special use cases. The goal is to provide individuals control over their data, make their data portable, and empower them with data-driven insights.
The pitch:
''''
Google has your search history, Amazon know your shopping habits, and Tinder knows your dating preferences, shouldn't you know what they know? Your company is tracking your work to make you productive for them. Wouldn't it make sense that you do that for yourself?
EyeData aims to be the data platform for individuals, decoupling data from application and services. We want to provide individuals control over their data and empower them with data-driven insights. This means that you only fill out the same piece of data, once, ever (no more annoying forms), and you can easily migrate data from one place to another. Applications ask your consent to request your data.
There are many other interesting use cases for EyeData, such as getting personalized recommendations for products and services when you ask for it. Say, looking up a pair of running shoes that is already your size and of the brands you love, rather than selecting the same filters many times on different shopping sites.
