https://github.com/crossplane/crossplane/issues/1805

Love learning about crossplane and diving into its internals, so I am working on fixing issues it has on its "issues" page in GitHub.

Not a fan of their curl -sfL https://get.k3s.io | sh - installation method. Kind, on the other hand, has multiple installation methods, including via wget for their binary: https://kind.sigs.k8s.io/docs/user/quick-start/#installing-f....

Docs actually cover your need. There is a section that describes manual install.

> If you choose to not use the install script, you can run K3s simply by downloading the binary from our GitHub release page, placing it on your path, and executing it. https://docs.k3s.io/installation/configuration#configuration...

if you read their docs, you have other options too, including airgapped installs https://docs.k3s.io/installation/airgap?airgap-load-images=M...

You open to adding a new mentee to the mix? I have 10 years of XP and looking to grow doing DevOps work.

LE has some gnarly rate limiting rules, so I use ZeroSSL. Works out great for my purposes.

That's the reason I switched. I had an issue where a path was not mounted correctly and we blew through our limits.

Oh, on LE the Rate Limit Adjustment Request forms the contractual things (if that's what they are?) do not load: https://isrg.formstack.com/forms/rate_limit_adjustment_reque...

Hm, it's supposed to be https://letsencrypt.org/docs/integration-guide/ - but it looks like the link is broken. I'll fix it.

https://github.com/elliotechne/soc2 is a SOC2 compliance checker using checkov and Terraform. Using it with https://github.com/elliotechne/tfvisualizer.

How about debian-slim?

I actually have used that, thank you. Excellent choice.

No love for DigitalOcean yet? Managed Kubernetes at around $60/month. Terraform with GitHub Actions works out perfectly.

Digital ocean! They make those awesome blog posts about how to do easy tech stuff I should really have memorized and really don’t want to admit I have to look up.

Yep, I've a number of apps on their App Platform and it works great.
