Amazon has three books listed about systems by John Gall that look very similar, is there a specific one that you're talking about? or would recommend to start with?

"Systemantics" is the original classic. "Systems Bible" is the same book, foolishly renamed, but otherwise great. That's the edition to start with.

In 2008, SSD Array was deployed to handle images.

2009 brought more upgrades, including move to HP ProLiant DL785 with 512 GB of ram and 32 CPUs and SQLServer 2008 and Windows 2008, and In the next week we will be upgrading our image serving, we are nearing 10,000 images served per second and existing stuff just isn’t cutting it. We will be moving our 200 million images over to RamSan

Another interesting thing:

"This month we will be building out our CUDA cluster to have 147,000 GPU cores to allow us to better predict who you will date."

I have a two character twitter handle also, and am active on it. Used to receive several "reset" emails per day before two-factor authentication.

Unless they change that, and keep on extending it, as it has been done with copyrights.

-----

That's true... but I imagine if they extended it that far, reproduction rights of the child would be included in the license. Unlike corn, I can't imagine many parents would agree to sterilize their children just to include some synthetic DNA sequence. Even if the parents were very desperate (because of some genetic problem), they would still want their child to be able to reproduce.

-----

They wouldn't need to sterilize the children, nor would the corporation be interested in that. Just think of the recurring revenue!

assuming the parents understand the contract in which they are entering.

Only 2 things that I don't like about it: 1) price, 2) can't upgrade.

Otherwise it's very impressive.

Haven't used Nitro myself, worth exploring:

Nitro is a library for painlessly writing scalable, fast, and secure message-passing network applications

Dropbox.... “coming soon.” Time to look at Bittorrent Sync again?

Or other open source alternatives?

-----

"Is BitTorrent Sync open-source? BitTorrent Sync isn't open source software, and no announcements have been made to indicate that this will likely change."[1]

I know they are not open source currently, but for now they are not on the list.

It would be awesome if they did open source it, or at least allow for third party (EFF?) review of source.

-----

My thoughts exactly. I'm certainly going to be looking at other options, including BitTorrent Sync. As useful as Dropbox may be, it's something I'd be willing to do without if this is true.
