Not as rude as ignorant indiscriminate knee-jerk criticism of government work.

The lack of handling identity is a showstopper for ActivityPub. I cannot for the life of me figure out why they didn’t go the extra and make identity portable.

Couldn't you, in theory, provide a service using ActivityPub + DID to kind of make this happen today? It's just that the current implementations (Mastodon et al) didn't implement things that way. I think I've read people arguing that here on HN at least.

I would love to read more about this idea.

It's more a sense to trying to get where we could've gone, rather than nostalgia to me.


Somehow some way, the end game needs to be entities curating space they own (websites) and syndicating out to platforms for reach/engagement. Indieweb has the fundamentals, but no path nor intention for broad uptake.

Anyone have bright new ideas on this angle?

People are dismayed because no other great explanations for the health/nutrition crisis have surfaced. Offer a theory instead of just "no, that's not it".


It's perceived as performative by the dominant culture because it's purpose is to bring certain injustices to light; injustices that are sometimes nuanced, but usually just obscured by history and bias.

That's about as long an essay at PG has ever written; red flag.

Imagine individuals and their experiences that "wokeness" is meant to help and notice none of that is recognized in the essay.


What I heard is that trying to maintain sane content is less profitable than the alternative, and definitely less politically advantageous.
