I agree with all, except the comments about “willing to work for low salaries”. This type of filter tends to attract individuals who may lack the entrepreneurial spirit essential for a startup. It’s a losing strategy.
i didn't meant "low wages" in absolute terms - eg. "exploitation" of people.
i meant "relative low(er) salaries" compared to the "high(er) salaries" big companies are able to pay - let alone big tech...
and i think this is at its core the "hard problem" to solve as an early-stage startup:
to get relative good people who see reason to take such a job - when they would be "capable" to work for one of those big companies and rake in the large(r) salaries payed there ...
so there has to be a reason for them to accept this payment deficit ... this is what i called "passion for the cause" in my first post :)
My pet theory is that they were a form of marketing for the folks who grew up with the wild-west-internet. The internet now is more corporate and "serious". You have an entire generation of workers who only ever knew the internet in its walled off / corporate form. And then you have folks want to "just get work done". So you'll continue to see fewer of these harmless chicanery.
This is wrong. I am relatively at the beginning of my career and already reached the said max. Median is probably much less, but the max is also much higher.
Python is gonna be slower than Java and other compiled languages. Thats the price you pay for fast development. While most of your speed is going to be bottlenecked by network, there is still value in getting some optimizations to being able to handle more load.
Fast API is basically async implementation of your standard API coding on top of uvicorn (which is a web server), which is built on uvloop, which is a faster event loop.
Happy to hear that the hook works well at least. I mostly do mobile development and custom scripts for third party integration for small businesses. Custom solutions make it really hard to present my work in a concise manner.
Thanks, I've updated the page with a little more about my work and some past projects. I develop mobile apps and third-party integrations for small/medium sized businesses.
Until now, I've acquired clients through word of mouth or online job boards, but I struggle with presenting my expertise. I'm trying to improve my presentation skills through working on this webpage and it will essential serve as a digital business card for non-technical business owners.
I'm aware of the slow loading issue and plan to address it as the final step, once I'm satisfied with the landing page's overall content.
That’s a very good idea!
