When I was younger, I used to believe that the antiquated image of the hipster or upper-class white Starbucks artist who owns a Mac was a cliché, an invention of the boomers. But as I have had to deal with some creative teams.

I have come to loathe and disdain this kind of person I did not think even existed a decade ago. The sad truth is that a lot of people of a certain demographic will prefer to die before even switching to Windows, let alone Linux or something open. And sadly, a small part of the tech world is the same; they think that their experience with Windows and Android more than a decade ago is reflective of how they work now. Thus, Apple could spit on their faces, and yet they will still like it. Sadly, nothing to do with people who just suck up to modern Apple.

there is a quite clear well and obvious difference between job elimination and job transformation and job change. But the express purpose of creating textile machines was not job elimination, it was output increase, meanwhile AI is not at least in business cases presented as an output increaser.

AI is presented and designed as an employee replacer, plain and simple.

Textile machines were attractive to owners since they could employ less skilled people who could be replaced if they tried to organise and strike. This enabled the factory owners to take more of the profit and treat workers badly. It was the loss of high skilled jobs and the consolidation of wealth that drove the Luddite movement.

I would think that approving civilian weddings to be drone is far worsebut both those things are far far from his worst (not counting what wikileaks expose) actions

Or how about drone-striking a 16-year-old American citizen, merely for being related to a suspected terrorist? [1]

Obama get the blame because "the buck stops here," but just try to imagine the huge chain of people that the intelligence had to traverse to get the targets approved, and then someone up the chain had to sell the idea to the president.

I'm curious, what's wrong with a civil* wedding?

Picking through that comment I'm guessing the statement was about drone strikes on civilians having a wedding (based on questionable intell that high value targets were present and that "collateral damage" (civilian deaths) was OK).

Ecuador got some very big loans from China,so they were force to turn to them "for engineering & development work" specially in oil and energy production, this proved itself disastrous. Corruption increased and the quality of the engineering was insulting as cost cutting from Chinese companies would make most Americans blush.

Lmao this is not marxism this is much much closer to falangism and Catholic Syndicalism. Also answering to your comment "How is it an attack? What would be a more accurate descriptor for someone who appears to subscribe to the idea of an oppressed class and an oppressor class?"

Nobody talked about that or said that they just asked to replicate the model in more industries, and seeing the sorry state of many products, that seems wise.

As someone that escaped a socialist country, I can and will have to ask you to take five minutes to enage with people comments instead of blindly barking.

This is just insultingly dishonest the reality is that Infected, has infected wellbeing way way before politics infected investing.

Larry Fink and his sickly ilk have for too long affected working people.

I am pretty sure that the people he priced out of the housing market feel way different from the way the economist feels about this.

Even non essential things like videogames have seen themselves affected by this dishonest kind of investing. Backlash was just to be expected is insane that they want people to keep silent while everything they love is destroyed by New York financiers.
