They use a ton of electricity. Probaby not sustainable for most (unless you have lots of solar)

I'm using an M1 Macbook myself, but from a Permacomputing standpoint it's rather terrible. Everything is soldered, nothing can be fixed, replaced or expanded.

You can buy parts for it absolutely no problems at all so this is an exaggeration.

Ok, so how do i increase the RAM, the SSD and upgrade the CPU?

SSD is fine. I have a rework station. I haven't upgraded the other things in a computer for about 15 years.

You can get 500W solar panels for less than 40€ these days, so 150€ or so for 2000W. At German electricity prices, they pay for themselves very quickly!

If that were true, its market share wouldn't have tanked.

You have far more faith in the market than I do.

Mozilla is an epic management failure. I've never heard anything good about their management i think. And I've been using Firefox since its very beginnings.

Prices have come down

yes, which suggests they'll keep going down! So I'd expect GPT-4.5 to be 90% cheaper in 1-2 years

if i want to block data collection by Mozilla, what do i configure in pi-hole?

The Youtube adblock always works
