“You’re somebody who is a bad mother, right?” Mutcherson said. “Which is a huge part of what the thought process is here. This is not what mothers do. Mothers sacrifice, including allowing somebody to cut you open.”

You Americans have completely lost it.

Or these are oranges and apples, and your perspective is simply blurred because you are starting a fight whenever someone wants you to put up your glasses. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We really need to stop thinking that every AI assisted thing is bound to be slop. "Shit in Shit out" often Applies in reverse aswell.

the ai copy pasted the existing project. How can such a procedure not fall under copyright?

Especially now that ai can do this for any kind of intellectual property, like images, books or sourcecode. If judges would allow an ai rewrite to count as an original creation, copyright as we know it completely ends world wide.

Instead whats more likely is that no one is gonna buy that shit

>the ai copy pasted the existing project.

The change log says the implementation is completely different, not a copy paste. Is that wrong?

>Internal architecture is completely different (probers replaced by pipeline stages). Only the public API is preserved.

It's up to them to prove that a) the original implementation was not part of whatever data set said AI used and b) that the engineers in question did not use the original as a basis.

It's up to the accuser to prove that they copied it and did not actually write it from scratch as they claimed.

No, that's not how copyright laws work. Especially in a world where the starting point is the accused making something and marketing it as someone else's IP with a license change.

It's still on the claimant to establish copying, which usually involves showing that the two works are substantially similar in protected elements. That the defendants had access to the original helps establish copying, but isn't on its own sufficient.

Only after that would the burden be on the defendants, such as to give a defense that their usage is sufficiently transformative to qualify as fair use.

The Indirection is on purpose, it works like a continued chain of thought.

Yeah, I'm just doubtful Gemini could ever be considered a "better model" if it needs to put "chain of thought" artifacts into my source code, considering that none of the other models seems to need that to write better code than Gemini.

I am tiny bit angry reading this. Does the author believe he can just come into my country and by the mere fact of breathing has a right to vote in my countries election? This is madness if you aren't a citizen you don't get to vote..

>the mere fact of breathing

one could say it's the mere fact of taxation and labour that gives them their rights...

Well, you got your citizenship by the mere fact of coming into the world in the country and breathing in it, didn't you?

Once Gaming hits Linux for real Windows will simply die. Explorer takes 10 seconds to open when the folder in question has a couple of Gigs, blue screen crashes are for some reason back in win11. The entire thing takes ages to boot.

It's simply to bloated.

Same! My first thoughts: "Is this language pronounced Lang or Slang? Slang is actually a cool name for a new programming language..."

The trick with using characters which by definition are not allowed inside variable names, "<" and ">", should be sufficient no?

Only real programmers know how to do that.
