My latest is IRIS - a 16 bit computer with 8kB of RAM and half-precision floating point hardware. Using a fully custom RISC-like architecture and programming language that I designed.
I programmed DOOM, Minecraft in Minecraft, Elite, Ray tracer, Bad Apple, Tetris, Space Invaders, Mandelbrot, BBP Pi and more.
I have created my own full toolchain/development stack - from a custom high level C-like language all the way down to the hardware itself, all of which I designed myself.
I manage a small open-source team of people maintaining URCL and developing programs for my Minecraft computers.
I plan everything meticulously and am ruthlessly goal focused. Unlike most - I finish every project I start.
I have no formal qualifications or experience as I am fully self-taught. My university degree is in Chemical Engineering. I didn't discover low level computer building and programming until halfway through my degree - else I would have chosen Electrical Engineering.
While I love building computers and can talk for hours about them, IRIS does not pay rent. So I am open to any and all work if you think I will fit.
Extremely flexible - I can work any hours, any day of the week.
Remote: Yes. Or I can drive anywhere within reason.
Willing to relocate: Yes.
Technologies: Python, Rust, OpenGL, Blender, URCL, Custom Assembly Languages, Custom Hardware, Custom ISA Design, Custom Compilers, Custom Language Optimisers, Custom Register Allocator
