What do you mean by "It doesn't work for websites"? If you scroll down in the post you can see which settings you need to disable to show a clean "Search" screen on iOS


As soon as you type a character (in Search or Safari), you still get completions. As this is the way I open most things anyway (if I don’t swipe from the bottom to switch to an already open app or tab), I see no way to add more friction.

Granted, you can hide website bookmarks in a similar way to apps.

I guess my problem is that I don’t need to see apps or website favorites to think of what to open to waste my time.


Well, you need to search for apps somehow (I guess the app library is always there, but seems a bit extreme to get rid of it). It would be nice to be able to hide certain apps from search, but I think it is already nice to hide the default suggestions that are there in Safari. Android offers way more customization, but not nearly as polished as iOS.
