Great point! That’s definitely something worth adding to make the API feel more realistic. I’ll look into incorporating a fraud rate simulation along with a simple rule engine in the next version.
I always envy when US Based university can have any kind of school clubs, when on 3rd world country, you need approval from the directorate and they can ban the establishment without further notice.
Planed obsolescence will keep working for everyone. It will only economically rewarding(?, probably useful) on mission critical appliances, and I don't think this will end on consumer market :/ (look at light bulb)
> Omar’s circumstances are not unusual: many countries operate a research culture that expects researchers to publish frequently to secure their career in science.
I agree with this, and as we see the bubble keep growing, and the risk getting higher, default is everywhere.
We can see in South East asia it doesn't end well, KoinWorks/Lunaria, eFishery, Investree (even the founder can make another scam in Middle East), Crowdee, Akseleran, etc...
They called Unicorn, where in west we see Klarna, Afterpay, etc..
it's taking money, never generate right revenue, scamming million of people hard earning salary, just for VC doing their bubble pump and burst..
I'm here for the scam! I get paid absurd amounts of money at an unprofitable YC startup. It's fine, though, because our founders are scamming even more money.
It's all a ponzi scheme where we pass investment dollars to the next bag holder (series C!). It doesn't really matter what you do. If you can get the bag by scamming some dumb investor about AI, that's true trickle down economics.
The article equates “great coastal city” with “city that has a nice seafront for tourists”, and finds Surabaya lacking in that respect.
FTA: “One of the factors that makes Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Vung Tau great is that they have embraced the seafront with long coastal promenades and unimpeded views. The problem with Indonesian coastal cities is that the cities are cut off from the coast. Surabaya is a classic example.
Surabaya is a great city, and it’s a coastal city, but it’s not a great coastal city. Surabaya has an interesting old town area that would be more famous if it were renovated and promoted. When you are in Surabaya, you don’t have the impression that you are in a port city.”
I think so. Even though I use it quite heavily, I keep running out of capacity on the $100 plan. And every day, I run out of Opus capacity on the $100 plan.
Also probably something else like personal data, will be able to set rule to reject based on country and residence when transacting.
