Whats wrong with that?

If "AI" simply allowed people to search data without having to structure it then apply very rigid search terms, that would be in a win in my book.

If you were in any sort of closed community (religious, political, niche industry, etc), the fear of not being able to reinvent yourself was always there. Now its everywhere is the difference.

Hello darkness my old friend

My question is always if it’s just the company I’m at or is it how the who industry is run? The more companies I work at the more i realize it’s the later.

On the flip side, it’s easy to take for granted what DOES work when you know how much better it could be. I was siting at dinner with an 73 year old man yesterday who could stop talking about how amazing Siri is cause it’ll tell him the population of some country.

For the junior role, what kind of skills and experience are you looking for? Are you only considering US-based talent? It doesn't specify.

I'm US-based and am very early on in my transition from SalesOps to engineering. While I imagine most other US-based talent would consider the listed salary range quite low, I'd be willing to accept it as it would be an opportunity to learn and grow with a product I have personally used and enjoyed!

One that is very profitable

This makes me wonder -- why do things like stimulants, caffeine, and cold medicine help people think clearly?

Aren't they vasoconstrictors?

Is gambling irrational if you are the house or bookmaker's side of the transaction?

That is a good way to put it.

The messy middle between gambling and insurance is "investing".

There's nothing wrong with gambling as long as you are aware of the odds and make intelligent decisions based on them. Same with insurance.

Where both insurance and gambling go wrong is when people try to appeal to your emotions rather than logic.

Essentially if you’re aware of the odds and make intelligent decisions based on them there is no_____ _____ ____ gambling.

I have no idea what the ____ _____ ____ is supposed to be, but I'm guessing it is a string of negative words.

And yes, thats the case. Everything in life is playing the odds.

“thing wrong with” - it was a play on the quoted sentence
