I think it would be a bad idea to require an internet connection (for one thing, you might want to write your own app that does not require a internet connection); but, even if it doesn't, would not mean you can set the clock to avoid the delay, because it could be made to reset the delay if the clock is set.
The problem is that every day someone "creates" a "new" ffmpeg GUI or similar. There is already a million "ffmpeg GUIs", many of which existed before the advent of AI.
We don't need a thousand copies of a tool which is practially useless, espically when I could of just prompted an LLM for a command for ffmpeg to convert to randomfile.emk3ukz file or whatever. The spam was getting unreal.
If all you do is read Reddit threads all day, you'd think the game is unplayable. Although if you actually play the game, the problem is far less extreme than it is made out to be.
It might be, although trust factor has a major outcome of match quality.
I have over 10,000 hours in the game, majority played on official servers with quite a low % of matches impacted by cheaters. The match quality does deteriorate with Premier rating. I noticed a decent jump in cheaters after about 25k rating, although the number is not as much as people like to make it out to be.
Microsoft will shoehorn their Anti-Cheat into the next Xbox project and force it down the throats of Windows 11/Windows 12 users. This will cause game developers to gobble this technology up.
This is the only defense Microsoft has against the growing Linux Gaming crowd. Microsoft forgot how to make good, consumer friendly software.
We should note, this is entirely a Nvidia software imposed limitation, as the hardware can easily handle more, the purpose is to upsell to non-gaming cards.
Even if they do make people safer "on average" these systems are not tested by a lot of the auto-safety organizations. In fact, some of these organizations simply bump up the "safety rating" automatically depending on how many "safety" features are included, without actually testing the effectiveness of the feature.
This is important, because forward collusion detection is not a binary thing. Each auto maker has their own set of parameters, sensors and implementations to achieve a similar goal, but each act independently.
I would also prefer if people were more engaged with driving too. I don't think we should encourage people to "rely" on these systems to keep them out of trouble as these systems can and do act unpredictably and may harm other road users as a result of a programming decision since the car in front acted unexpectedly.
I think the whole automation of everything in a car is a bit silly. Transmissions are whatever for me, although the full lane assist, cruise control, adaptive cruise control, even automatic wipers and headlights makes people feel so much more disconnected from the car, which I think leads to unsafe habits or worse, unable to handle the car in situations where the automatic systems fail or become unreliable (e.g poor visibility, wet roads, unmapped roads, off-road, obstructions on the road, road works, etc).
You effectively do need an account to start a car in 2026.
You cannot buy a new car in 2026 which doesn't spy on you. This is the simple reason I will never buy an EV. EV's do not respect me.
Even if you don't "need" an account to start a car, all modern cars have tracking systems which record both the driver and passenger, send their face scan and camera recording to the manufacturer and 900 other adverting partners, some of which will be government organizations fronting as Ad companies. These companies keep logs of everything you do in your vechiel, not just when you start it, but where you started it, who started it, who drove it, what inputs do you do (throttle position, brake position, speed, engine RPM, aircon vent direction, window position, vibration measurements) not to mention audio recording from both inside and outside the car, compromising the secuirty and privacy of everyone around you, everyone that hops in your car, even children.
What kind of question is 'Others?' is doesn't even make any sense. It just pisses me off.
