What's the recommendation for someone with a hilariously high Lp(a)? Just pin LDL as low as possible?

Currently yes. There are some really promising drugs in the pipeline that are doing well in trials, though.

The french have really nailed protesting, see the BBQ adapted to be rolled along tram tracks to ensure you can stave off hunger mid protest: https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/tjmw8s/fr...

How recently were the arguments around utility in human transplantation put forward? Are religious scholars the OG biotech founders?

Good paper on the history of human/animal transplantation: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3246856/

In the 1920s, Voronoff advocated the transplantation of slices of chimpanzee testis into aged men whose “zest for life” was deteriorating, believing that the hormones produced by the testis would rejuvenate his patients.

Oh, this argument was definitely put forth after the fact. But the idea is that the utility of pigs must have been known to God, so perhaps this is a reason behind forbidding its consumption.

Do you have a more detailed writeup about how you've set this up?

My primary device is a 2010 Comtech (good luck finding one). It's just a voltage multiplier off of 110VAC( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voltage_multiplier ). I bought 8 $5/ea Chinese 'neg ion modules' and tied then to the back of the fan... they are parts to build into a much weaker device for cars. They will last longer (because they're resin sealed) and safer (12VDC supply) but by comparative output measurement I will need an array of 36 to match the output of the 2010 device. At $5 ea, this is doable. There are single power supply units more capable but I like the idea of 36 separate waterproof replaceable 12VDC things.

A book with stories about different people that have settled in that area https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/60206504-cheap-land-colo...

Overall it seems tough living around there, large parcels of land were divided and sold 30+ years ago via mail order and land values haven' tracked inflation in a lot of cases. A lot of people moving there for a second chance or fresh start.
