I read about a very wealthy person who owned several mansions, each with its own housekeepers and head of staff. He spent so much time fielding calls from those heads about what to do with each house, that he felt that they managed him. He felt he had become an employee of his housekeepers basically.
I'm a pretty hardcore minimalist, but I never really got this story. If he can afford to hire heads of staff and housekeepers, he can afford to hire someone to manage them all. Boom, now he only has to deal with one person, and infrequently if he's any good.
