Hi there! We're looking to bring on our first Lead Engineer. To be successful in this role, you'll have to be super smart, well-versed in CS concepts and studies, and you’ll need to have a passion for helping small businesses succeed!
inDinero has been hauling for about three years now, growing to over a thousand paying business customers, and we're looking for a lead developer! Both founders (Andy and Jessica) studied computer science before starting the company, and they wrote most of the initial code until product launch. Today, the company has ten full-time developers scattered across the globe, and we're looking for a tech lead who can oversee our team and it's growth as we go from ten to thirty. We are no suit-and-tie accounting firm - we focus on fostering a great work environment with free food, office massages, and collaboration across our teams with no "corner offices."
THE BIG PICTURE:
In 5 years, you've laid the ground work for the next page in accounting - an age-old industry has been brought into the cloud, automated, and been injected with a fresh spirit. You got in on the ground floor, and inDinero is a global accounting firm while relying on relatively little human resources to get the job done. You've helped develop an engineering team that boasts diverse and amazing talent and supported a system used by tens of thousands of small businesses around the world. The system has changed, and you helped make that happen all the while helping small businesses manage their finances and focus on their core mission.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN DAY-TO-DAY?
You'll work in tandem with our cofounders to spec out new product features with our design team and prioritize long-term structural improvements. To dream up and spec new product features, you will communicate across our accounting and sales teams to discover what will make our clients super happy and what will help us increase sales in new verticals. Managing the engineering team will require you to have great communication and organizational skills, the heart of a teacher, and a strategic mindset to improve workflow. Looking to the long-term, you will also need to upgrade Rails, make sure our servers will scale, ensure high-security, and modularize key parts of the code base. We know that even if you're leading a team you'll probably still want to spend time coding, so this role also affords the time to do hands-on programming.
SKILLS WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Ruby on Rails, Java, HTML/CSS/Javascript, Sysadmin experience (Debian).
