Mongo DBA? Help with the largest Mongo install in the world - MongoHQ (YC S11)
on Jan 23, 2013 | hide
MongoHQ is a database operations company with thousands of production Mongo servers. We have serious revenue, a large A-round in the bank, and an amazing set of customers that love what we do for them. Our customers' databases are growing fast enough that we want your knowledge to make sure we can continue running them well.

If you have DBA experience with Mongo and love scaling production databases, we want to talk to you. You will be most effective if you can reason about large database clusters, have a near-magic ability to detect problems early, and can educate customers about the best way to run a database (this often means saying no).

You will generally be doing DBA work on our larger deployments, but will also have an enormous effect on the product itself. If you can help us teach our tools how to reason, show us how to replicate almost-but-not-quite magic, and make us do a better job of guiding customers, you will be one of the most important hires we make.

If this sounds like you, send us an email and tell us about one of your Mongo (or other database) scars: hello@mongohq.com. We have offices in San Mateo, CA, Birmingham AL, and are perfectly happy to let good people work remotely.
