Look like they went with ARMv9 SME instead of their proprietary AMX leading to most of the improvements, which is still impressive, just no real IPC uplift on normal instructions over M3.

So, twice the performance at twice the price. Ho hum. Is that level of performance relevant on an iPad? I don't think so, and it would be smarter to buy two of the cheaper model. Or even, spend $130 and get an android tablet that does 90% of what the iPad Pro can.
