I'm sure the somewhat mythical claims about the healing power of noise are over-stated, but it does provide a more interesting set of noises than Chroma Doze. Excellent for long-haul flights and crappy commutes.
There are some interesting papers demonstrating reliable improvement in performance in ADHD and otherwise poorly performing people when listening to both noise and binaural beats, some publications reporting effect sizes comparable to stimulant medication.
It's probably not a good idea for a long run, but my daughter for a few years now is put into sleep with noise generated from the app. It was a life saver for us, to help her get to sleep. Otherwise we are too loud for her, or neighbors. I put the preset to a triangle starting high on red and low on violet. Also options to a delicate amplitude pulsing.
It is also very helpful to go to sleep if it is too loud also for adults.

Don't miss the recent discussion documenting "NeoStore [1], which is an alternative frontend for F-droid" that auto-updates (and a couple other options):
Great, simple app. When my tinnitus hinders me from going to sleep, I turn on Chroma Doze and that will mask the ring. Luckily, I don't need it often. And yeah, it can also mask other noise.
