Free Isn’t Always Free: A Guide to Free Cloud Tiers (backblaze.com)

I could be mistaken, but Oracle’s Always Free tier seems to me to be fool-proof in terms of accidentally incurring charges. You do have to provide a credit/debit card on signup, however they promise that it won’t be charged unless you change account type, off the Always Free tier.

As an example, so far it has been enough for me to run a Nextcloud server with around 180GB storage.

Slightly OT: I love Backblaze B2[0]. It's very cost effective.

I backed up ~30GB worth of data using restic[1] and I only have to pay 0.01 USD per month. It also has 0 egress fees.

This is especially amazing for students like me with inconsistent income sources.
