Most 16“ MacBook Pros often kill themselves and why they're unfixable (youtube.com)

I have a near $5K 16” MacBook Pro. This bummed me out.

If I was a hardware product manager at apple, I would be scouring the internet for things like this and make sure the next iteration of the board was less prone to such a disastrous failure mode

Sounds like this is specific to A2141 which is the 2019 intel MBP but the person in video speaks so incredibly fast at each and every serial number it’s hard to tell. Of course his perspective is that this is a major failure mode but statistically probably very low likelihood. I wonder if the variations in quality for USBC chargers has any affect, I’m surprised to not hear more about people wrecking devices while hooking up to low quality USBC.

If you’re still spooked, time machine is still good. And Arq App does a great job backing up to any cloud storage with a ton of available config options
