I've been more active on HC than on other community news sites, but I've always seen one big weakenss to voting.
I usually open links in tabs, and then go through them all, rather than going back and forth between pages, so I often don't go back to vote for submissions.
However, if the results opened with the HN submission as a banner at the top with the submitted content in a frame below, Then I don't have to go back and forth, and maybe a link in the banner would change the size of the frames so reveal comments.
If this gets enough votes, I'll code it up and send it to PG.
