For the managers on HN, this is an important takeaway! I’ve started really pushing new hires to jot down when they run into major issues during onboarding - and to contribute back if possible.
If you don’t empower new hires to do this, they’ll often (esp. juniors) keep it to themselves. Everyone wants to look like an autonomous bad ass when they start a new job.
