Andreessen Horowitz Leads $25M Round in Ethereum Scaling Solution (coindesk.com)

There are promising new cryptocurrencies such as Avalanche that don't need a L2 solution because they can scale on L1 (and are EVM compatible!). Is betting on ETH really the smart move?

Ethereum is battle tested and has the adoption to actually utilize scalability improvements.

It's moving over a trillion dollars in value every quarter now:

And it's highly probable these are economically meaningful transactions, as opposed to a party sending transactions back and forth between two accounts they control, given transaction fees per transaction are over $10 now.

Avax also failed their big launch and had accounts with negative balances.

Aside from that; at this point I think eth will end up becoming a stack of tech.

Perhaps if you are an investor and know that your liquidity event comes much earlier than in the traditional startup cycle. You want to be able to run on something you can effectively convert to fiat money in the near term.

Ethereum set aside tons of eth to fund development in the premine. I wonder if they are broke, greedy, dumb, or what.

Ethereum has a massive amount of development under way, with 248 repositories listed on the official Ethereum Github project page alone:
