Not entirely on topic, but Igvita constantly puts out some of the best blog posts I see. It is always top-shelf content.


I concur, I consistently read his posts while not being particularly interested in ruby.


Here in the UK top-shelf content means adult-only. Perhaps you meant top-drawer?


That's interesting. I would have no idea what someone meant if they said "top-drawer". In bars, "top-shelf" means the expensive booze, usually contrasted with "well", which means the cheap stuff.


People use "top-shelf" for this as well. Like, "This bottle of cognac is top-shelf".


Yeah, here in the US "top-shelf" is usually used in the context of alcohol. All of the really good stuff is top-shelf (usually literally) and the well stuff is the garbage in plastic bottles.

Keep the really good stuff up high and visible where everyone can see it.
