Smollett right there.

You might want to read that again. None of the claims in that WaPo article are actually refuted. WaPo does a good job at telling you what you SHOULD think, but there is no defense of DWS there.

For example, "He wasn't trying to flee [with a last second ticket to Pakistan], see, he bought a round trip ticket!" is some ostrich head in the sand level reasoning.
