So you ignored the other arguments the author makes? The problem you run into if you want to define gender studies as illegitimate is that depending on what grounds you declare it so you inadvertently disqualify other subjects which are 'known' to be legitimate.
Gender studies isn't really all that different from other humanities other than it has a lot of breath with a narrow focus.
