I haven't thought about the bigco tech interview process like this. But now you put it out, it makes perfect sense :) I tried white board interviews about 10-12 years ago with big companies and failed miserably. Then I decided never to take a white board coding interview again which I haven't done yet. However, after working for startups and a few acquisitions later I ended up in a silicon valley big company without doing a white board coding interview. I'm not sure where I went with the story, may be to show that there are alternatives if you don't want to do white board coding.

I think any note taking or PKM doesn't fit everyone's need 100%. We have to adopt a system and make changes to match our needs. I too started with Zettlekasten but the system I am using now doesn't follow atomic notes at all.

I'm not sure if I agree with this approach. I would say ask for a raise without showing you have an offer from another company. If they don't then leave. I feel like it is awkward to show them that you have offer and then stay. But It could be just me.

Personally, I don't care if they feel awkward, nor do I care to be perceived as loyal in matters of business. The awkward exchange wouldn't need to happen if they ensured that they're employees felt taken care of. You shouldn't feel accountable for that.

True, you have a point. Personally, if I wasn't fairly compensated I would just leave. I can understand that there could be situations that changing jobs might not be straight forward.

Absolutely! Once I tried to cancel SiriusXM for an old car it was a nightmare.I had to call and wait for hours to get someone. Never signup for SiriusXM since then.

whenever I call they keep offering me to renew with “new customer” offer, which is/was good price when I used to commute and do enjoy many channels and play by play.

long story short I have many Echo Dots (free for “new” customers) lying around in the house now.

Agree! I felt like puppet missed an opportunity to be an IaaC for cloud providers/provisioning, especially with containers. From my experience, developers switch to other tools (terraform, ansible, etc) to fill the gap.

I feel like almost everyone is working on some variant of digital garden/zettlekasten/digital slip box since the pandemic started. At least that's when I found out about it.
