Toontown: Corporate Clash | Volunteer/unpaid position | Remote only (worldwide) | All experience level welcome
We are Toontown: Corporate Clash, an entirely not-for-profit MMORPG that is a fan reimagination of Disney's defunct MMORPG, Toontown Online. Besides continuing the legacy of Toontown Online and bringing the MMO into the 21st Century, we also use our original IP to [raise funds for charities](https://corporateclash.net/news/article/155) - we have raised over $54K for children's health and LGBTQ+ charities.
We are on the lookout for a broad range of talents, from Tech to Art to Community Management! Everybody on the team is a volunteer - there is no salary, we do not solicit donations and all expenses are funded by our staff. We pride ourselves as being a training ground for up-and-coming talent to gain experience working on a real product in a 100+ strong team; some of our volunteers have used their experience with us to land jobs in and out of the industry.
We have lots of interesting tech problems that arises from building on top of a 20+ year old codebase (yes, Toontown development started out on Python 2.0!). We are especially interested in people with an interest in distributed systems, system administration, game physics and automation pipelines!
I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to Toontown: Corporate Clash and help tackle the unique challenges of modernizing a 20+ year-old codebase. As a full-stack developer with a strong focus on backend development, system architecture, and automation pipelines, I am eager to apply my skills in distributed systems and game infrastructure.
I’ve solved 450+ LeetCode problems and write technical blogs on algorithmic solutions, showcasing my problem-solving expertise. I’d love to contribute my time to this project and discuss how I can add value to the team.
Attached is my resume for your review. Looking forward to your response!
I am a software engineer with over 5 years of experience building web applications. Currently a system architect IT Volunteer with Crisis UK (homelessness charity) and Technical Lead at Toontown: Corporate Clash (volunteer-run revival of the Disney MMO Toontown Online).
I enjoy being "the glue" to IT projects, working across disciplines to ensure they get delivered on time, meet budget and satisfy users. I have created projects from scratch, and have dived into complex codebases and modernised them. I prefer full-stack development on the web but can also specialise into backend / frontend and other disciplines as needed.
Currently obsessed with PayloadCMS and creating websites from scratch.

While we're on the topic of niche railway games, I highly recommend [NIMBY Rails](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1134710/NIMBY_Rails/) - it is the closest you can get to building functional railway systems in a game.
