In my experience Ubuntu is one of the harder distros to get working when it doesn't work ootb.

Agreed. This is exactly why I built Shell Bling Ubuntu https://github.com/hiAndrewQuinn/shell-bling-ubuntu , and test it every 6 months or so against a fresh install of Ubuntu in a VM - I don't want to have to remember all the little trivia I have to use to get all of my little command line tools, neovim setup, etc. working together harmoniously. The best part is I can hand it off to my colleagues and blow their minds with just how nice a terminal experience can be, "out of the box", kinda.

I think he's being sarcastic.

Per Poe’s law, which most of the Hacker News community is familiar with, assume sarcasm doesn’t exist unless the commenter explicitly tells it’s sarcasm.

In case someone wants a PS1 programming course in 2024: https://pikuma.com/courses/ps1-programming-mips-assembly-lan...

second that. i'm taking the pikuma.com course and it is WAY better than i first thought it would be.

Is that the "Racket 2" thing they wanted to make some time ago?

Yes

I was in high school, rocking an E2180 with a massive Scythe Ninja cooler. Had a 3.2Ghz "summer" OC profile and a 3.45Ghz "winter" one. Those were the days.

My cousin had an E2160 running at the same 2.7Ghz, and a Radeon HD3850 that was softmodded to HD3870. This PC is still running, and it's still overclocked!

I'm just happy that most young gamers are not falling for the bait like they did 10 years ago.

It's not my cup of tea either, but no substance? Come on, we gotta show classics some respect.

> Maybe he hates sand

It gets everywhere!

It's also coarse and rough.

Aaand the "least surprising study in the world" award goes to...

This is done on purpose. They've put so much effort into bullying casual gamers to splurge $300+ on a GPU. Why release a $150 SoC that's good enough for 95% of people? Free market, my ***!
