That's a great marketing strategy. They don't lose any money because the game is developed in house and in return they get an influx in traffic on a day when a lot of people just received a lot of money as a gift. Well played Valve.
Coinbase is great, it has been very secure and reliable. The only thing that i don't like about it is the fact that you have to wait a little while for your Bitcoins to come in, although I haven't used any other exchanges so I don't know if this is standard.
I haven't used the app because I have an android phone so I don't know how it works, but is there any way to have someone outside of the 1 mile radius ask to "join" people within another radius? Or would that break the idea of the app.
Of course it's true. I'm a terrible bowler, I could roll the ball in the gutter a million fucking times but if I keep TRYING to get a strike, EVENTUALLY i'll get one.
That's different from just rolling the ball down the lane. If I don't change something up and learn from my mistakes and learn how to angle the ball and learn how much force to give it then i'll keep rolling the ball in the gutter, sure i can shrug to my friends and tell them I "tried" but i'd know deep down that I didn't... Don't fall into the fallacy of staying in your comfort zone and trying just for the sake of trying.. You'll never grow. You have to be willing to challenge yourself and do things just a little different next time to really become better and finally get that strike.
And when all is said and done you'll probably be a pretty good bowler..
what MS-Dos was to PCs in the 80's or what Android was to Smartphones more recently is exactly what Steam OS will be to home consoles in the present. I have faith that Valve will dominate the next generation of interactive entertainment, if of course they don't mess anything up.
I'm a huge Jay-Z fan, his lyrics are actually pretty smart and thought provoking as someone already mentioned. I also like the fact that you can hear the businessman behind the lyrics in quite a few of his songs. He really is quite the businessman, as this deal he cut with Samsung testifies to.
