Reboost plz: In light of increased uncertainty on the reliability on the US, European democracies should strengthen their strategic autonomy: this also includes autonomy from #Microsoft #Windows in the public and private sector.

Why not just use and contribute to an existing distro like Fedora or Debian?

I don't know what this exists for. What I do know is that it is not a fork of Mozilla Firefox; the Netscape browser entity is Chromium. There is a "Download Browser" link in the footer in https://isp.netscape.com/ . Click on it to download.

Compared to what IronCalc made in RUST is talking about, ZetaOffice is very miserable.

I think people involved in LibreOffice should realize that LibreOffice is outdated.

Fumiko Minami(三並風美子)'s knowledge and contribution to the development of the rice cooker is greatly appreciated, but she is rarely mentioned in Japan. I think it deserves more attention.

It is a lie that Momofuku Ando invented instant ramen. The history of instant ramen as presented by Nissin must be questioned.

In Taiwan, there was Ke-shi-men (雞絲麵), in which the noodles were fried in oil and then returned to hot water.

Before the introduction of Chicken Ramen, Choju-men (長寿麺) was introduced by Cho Kokubun (張國文) and was widely known.

Momofuku Ando is a businessman who exploits these things, crushes his opponents with lawsuits, and simply advertises that he invented them.

Maybe it’s related that Momofuku Ando and his family were Taiwanese immigrants?

Humans have been dehydrating food for at least 12,000 years. I think it’s pretty unlikely that that he was the first to do in that fashion in 1958. I agree.

LibreOffice may be useful for German, but not for Asian languages. This is because it was designed without regard to the typographical rules of the Asian-speaking world.

You could say that TDF is "committed to Asian languages". But text is meaningless unless it can be used according to typographic rules, not just to display characters. They do not understand that.

And the problem is that the user interface is stuck in the 2000s. They don't understand that the Ribbon UI has been around for 17 years and generations have changed.

They say, "There's the Tabbed UI," but the Tabbed UI is nothing like the Ribbon UI. They're in denial and they don't want to get out of the 2000s.

> They don't understand that the Ribbon UI has been around for 17 years and generations have changed.

The bubonic plague has been around for hundreds of years, so it must be great, right?

FreeOTP, supported by Redhat, is another open source 2FA application. I use it.

Same here. I haven't compared it in depth with Aegis, but besides some UI quirks I'm happy with FreeOTP. Am I missing anything important?

Never open old Japanese Word files in LibreOffice. It will destroy the file.

This is because old Japanese Word files are saved in Shift JIS, but LibreOffice opens them in UTF-8.

Do you know if there is an issue for that particular problem in their Bugzilla[1]? If not, have you tried opening a new one? Could you share a sample to reproduce? Because I tried to search for "Shift JIS" on Bugzilla and found nothing.

That' s an interesting experiment. I uploaded an icon to an account created on tweedle.social and it stopped with an error. ;)

Yes, there is a bug with image uploads. Work in progress!!

What is your username so I can check the logs?
