If you are willing to hire in Canada plz let me know. I work as a data engineer with a few years of experience, so I’m not exactly your ideal employee. But I do believe I can learn the ropes in a few months.

At the same time I do believe that your hiring method works.

NASA teams under a nazi were pretty performant, just for saying.

Nah he was apolitical. His job was to make the rockets go up. Where they come down was some other guy's problem.

It wasn't under a Nazi, it was Nazis only. Until Lyndon Johnson destroyed it, there was only them. But they were no immature manchilds as Elon, they were known to be excellent engineers and managers.

David Attenborough narrated some of my favorite paleontology documentaries.

One of the things I like most about David Attenborough is it never seems like he's reading a script. It feels like he's talking about something he knows about (which he does).

When it comes to the acting or performing worlds, is there a phrase describing this?

“Conversational delivery”

You seen Prehistoric Planet[0]?

The CGI is so good, you can practically smell the beasties.

My favorite is "Lost worlds, vanished lives". Very few CG (I don't think there is any), very good demonstration, superb music.

The lottery guy. And he is unscratched!

Software: Kernel develoent or any similar level system programming projects.

Hardware: electronics repair, especially vintage ones.

I thought about this too but had the same feeling that it is going to distract me. Alas, I wish I could spend little attention while still getting some exercises.

Wondering is there anything else I can put into coffee without breaking the fast? Thanks.

It seems like some people regard small amounts of fat to be allowable, specifically a bit of coconut oil in your coffee. At least it won't break the fasting of the carb processing machinery, so it shouldn't prevent you from going into ketosis.

Thanks! I will try out coconut oil later.

You're welcome!

Just keep in mind there's not much research about how this may change metabolism compared to a strict fast.

It may reduce any desired autophagy effects, which are unfortunately not very well-studied in the first place, but it may just es well increase them! I've seen both POVs argued in various articles.

The only actual scientific study I can find (1) does show some interesting effects on various metabolic markers, though (in rats).

Man what a blast!

I totally agree. I read and commented the source code of Woz's SWEET16 and it was a blast to fully understand it.

But of course, might not be that rosy if under great time constraints.

As a DE, I have an unpopular disdain of Snowflake because it trivalize a lot of stuffs. I think I'm going to switch to OLTP given the chance.

Right there with you.

Developed my disdain after having to put up with the incredibly shitty behaviour from the sales and account teams a few years ago.

Sure they had some novelty years ago, but everyone and their dog has disaggregated compute these days, and all their other “feature” just feel like enterprise money extraction that they’ve acquihired in.

Expensive, slow, and painful.

If you're using Snowflake as an OLTP you're looking at the wrong technology anyway.

Can you go into more depth on this?
