Looks like one of the shows she recorded was the Oprah Winfrey Show. Wonder if she has a taped copy of the Trump interview from 1988 that seems to have been erased from the internet. https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/j7l8y5/bounty_....

Would love to maybe do a group meet-up?

YouTube on Firefox is completely bricked, so it forces Chrome usage.

I use youtube over 30 times a day in firefox the passed year without issue.

maybe there is problem with your setup? because i do use youtube on firefox without a problem (+ublock and +vpn) and i don't see advertisement. though, of course my main gate to youtube is FreeTube.

I also use ublock + vpn. Do a quick Google search for "reddit + firefox + youtube not working", you'll see that strings are getting posted much more frequently over the past six months.

Probably some form of A/B testing. I used to say the same thing, but specific channels and specific live-streams will now die every 30 seconds using FF+uBlock. I found they appear to do testing on channels they do not like such as those that complain about YT's policy and other channels for reasons I shall not speak of here.

youtube on firefox works just fine for me. can you describe this means it’s bricked?

Videos play for 10 seconds then stop loading, forced reduced quality, and just generally buggy in several different ways. Many Reddit strings with tons of other people having similar issues.

I'm a constant firefox youtube user, hours a day at least, for years, I've had no problems at all. Is this actual FUD?

Collectively there are 100s of strings open across Reddit, Stack Overflow, etc asking for a clean way to export saved places on Google Maps, but other than Takeout (which for the average user is quite complex), there isn't really anything that works well.

There's ways to hack together a scraper that can go through and grab everything, but it's still quite messy. I think Google is making it hard on purpose in order to use this as their "moat".

The Takeout export from Maps is quite messy when I've done it in the past.

Unfortunately common practice across a few industries. Ryanair has been doing this for a while (and still do).

I actually appreciate Ryanair for being transparently money grabbing because you consistently know what you're getting every time. They're very reliable and you can mentally budget in what you'll have to deal with.

Airlines like Lufthansa, United, etc for me are much worse.

Also Ryanair is the only thing keeping all the nationally subsidized airlines even somewhat honest when it comes to pricing. If they didn't exist, flying would be significantly more expensive. Glad they're here.

Actually I'm pretty sure that's lack of tax on jet fuel and all the ridiculous taxpayer funded subsidies that airlines get that keeps prices low.

Its crazy that in the UK the train is like £100 but a flight can be had for £20. Utterly corrupt. Bonkers.

> If they didn't exist, flying would be significantly more expensive.

Surely, flying was significantly more comfortable before Ryanair!

I wouldn't know, I could never afford it!

I love that it's so unreliably trustworthy that it winds up being, in a way, trustworthy.

Is that like saying the Nazis are preferable over the Soviets because they are more consistently evil?

Fwiw, i disagree 100%.

When I tell people I live in Berlin, they often make a face and disparage it for being an "ugly" city - and to a certain extent I agree with them... if they've only visited the tourist heavy central areas (Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstrasse, and much of Mitte), where there is a notable lack of greenery.

What I try to remind them of, is that there are more parks, gardens, and forest here than any other capital city, and that those areas will go toe-to-toe beauty wise with anywhere.

Additionally, as temperatures rise (and there's a lack of indoor refuges due to AC being uncommon), finding respite among the greenery is one of the only foolproof ways to cut the heat here.
