My parents lost a dear friend who was sending a text that took his eyes off the road and resulted in a fatal crash, fortunately only involving his car, but tragic none the less. Put down the phone, nothing is that urgent.

I agree, it's sad though they did some groundbreaking coverage in the past. I thought that tablet based reading would help the media industry a lot more than it has to date.

it is worth noting that they let the 4 employees in question go, that shows that they are taking the issue seriously now, IMO anyway

> they are taking the issue seriously now

They are certainly taking the threat of a lawsuit seriously.

Edit: I'd be interested in asking you a question privately. Mind emailing me? My email address is in my profile.

"The report, “Women at the Wheel,” does not speculate on why female executives improve a company’s chance of success, nor did it study companies where only females are involved. But it finds that companies have a greater chance of either going public, operating profitably or being sold for more money than they’ve raised when they have females acting as founders, board members, C-level officers, vice presidents and/or directors.

interesting read, but wish it went into more detail about why these companies are more successful beyond the presence of women..seems a bit incomplete

that sums it up well to me, the switch is not so immediate for most companies

great read on your company and your process for getting it off the ground, congrats

I also have conflicting options about the issue. On the one hand, yes get out of the way and let things evolve. On the other, how sustainable is a city that only the wealthy can afford to live.

My husband and I loved living in SF, but left because event though we both have great, well paying jobs, we can't afford a place large enough to be comfortable, let alone have a kid. So we moved and many of those we know have done the same.

interesting, and motivating, read, thanks for sharing it

Good infographic, surprising to see that the number of female students in CS has gone down so much.

Interesting yes, but a dubious claim: "Actually, programming pioneers were mostly women"

Literally could not continue reading the post after that claim.
