Would Google really stoop so low and try to use the success of the movie to prop their AI video generator tool?

But then again, the do no evil motto is long gone, so I guess anything goes now?

Note that it's very likely that Veo models are based on "Flow Matching" [1]

[1] https://arxiv.org/abs/2210.02747

It's a common word. There are like 50 things named Flow. It's unrelated.

Before picking a name it's necessary to Google it and make sure you're not squatting on anything important. It's hard to believe that they didn't find they're about to squat on an Oscar winning animated film less than a year after its release. They decided to roll with it anyway, for a tool that basically aims to eliminate animators and filmmakers

I'd say that is not completely true. Variable power levels (on-off-on-off which certain cheaper microwave ovens do) are definitely not a gimmick, unless you like some parts of your meals cold and other piping hot.

Same for induction cooktops, but I digress.

Loved the book! :)

But on the other hand, consider running shoes - most modern ones, even the expensive ones, will wear out in a few hundred kms and are usually non-repairable.

I really feel that Bosch/Siemens are the best deals right now and there are only minor differences between them (a Simenes freezer might have an extra light fixture whereas the Bosch one does not).

Much like the Need for Speed series (I believe it was introduced in 1998, in the third installment called Hot Pursuit).

Is there a way to use pytest-xdist and still keep the regular output?

But some do, don't they? It seems to me that Hyundai will initiate the phone connection right when you open the driver's door. Then, as you sit down and start the car, the infotainment has already booted up and the phone connection comes online almost immediately.

Also, during short stops, the screens go black but the connection is kept up, so when you re-start, there is no delay.

That’s good to hear - the experiments I’ve had with the wireless CarPlay has been mediocre, but it’s only been a few rentals.

Whereas I really did take wired CarPlay into consideration when buying our minivan, there are only so many options that I may have had to compromise.

It's just a way to indirectly say that the school food was not awesome.

Mastery comes with age, no way around that.

In light of this, it's weird how the software industry, especially startup culture, is so rife with age discrimination.

Experienced people see through b.s. and push back. Less experienced people are simply easier to exploit. And whether or not the current job market allows us proper perspective, a large part of our working population is exploited. That’s how capitalism works in practice.

This. LLMs seem to be great for 90+% of stuff, but sometimes, they just spew weird stuff.
