This 60-80 hrs/week maybe a startup myth. Since Europe in general has far fewer startups than US people hear these wild numbers in Europe far less. For normal big tech worker, or enterprise workers 40 hrs is really the norm. Now many people specially in contracting, consulting can stretch hours for billing purpose or impressing upon clients thats a different matter.
Will that work involve digging really deep hole for A16z partners to move in. (Of course to survive apocalypse that billionaire VCs are acutely worried about.)

This is A16z. Calling it unnecessary fluff would be rather polite. I think they are going hard core on to their next scam. Of course crypto vibes is no coincidence here.
While the efforts are laudable, it remains to be seen where it will stand against regular Python and Julia, that actually have support from card vendors directly.
It is same thing with higher ed. Everyone should have college degree . Now even without everyone having it but just 3-4 times then before means there are tons of graduates without jobs, low paying jobs commensurate to years in education and heavy load of debt.
The question from start had to be Should everyone get a college degree?
Define all kinds of privilege/benefits as rights. And then move on to ask innocent questions as Is even asking for our rights politics?
You made excellent points. As someone looking to solve problems, finish tasks and go home. I just don't feel energized marketing myself if it is not during changing jobs.
And measurement has really taken over now. There is little value in getting task done well as compared to finishing more jira stories.
