Microsoft Songsmith does that. There are some crazy videos on Youtube. Eg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg0l7f25bhU

Thanks for that link. I have been wondering about it for several years myself. This needs to be brought up more often.

Old blog post. Some of the issues like single window and layer groups are fixed in Gimp 2.8.

Zed Shaw is the Nietzsche of hackers (and beyond)! Some Nietzsche's quotes I think relevant to this post and Zed's philosophy in general:

"Nothing is true, everything is permitted."

"Everything is human, all too human."

"I mistrust all systematizers and avoid them. The will to a system is a lack of personal integrity."

"You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist."

"Who cares if I am right! I am much too right. And he who laughs best today will also laugh last."

Don't be fooled by DistroWatch stats. It means nothing.

Link bait title. The author is advertising his upcoming book.

The gist of the article is that anything other than Socialism is 'American'. Since when houses with concrete roofs, foreign brands, shopping malls, office buildings and being optimistic represent only America? The author needs to travel other parts of the world.

Articles like this which draw parallels between two countries often do disservice to both the countries. America is not all about consumerism and India is not all about a poor imitation of America.

The Indian security establishment with 'overbearing powers' is only obsessed with Pakistan and China.

Internal security is not the task of military. Period.

All terrorist attacks in India (except Kashmir and 26/11) are carried out by homegrown terrorists with indirect external help.

Pentadactyl is much more feature rich than Vimium and gives a more Vim-like experience than Vimium does. (thanks to Firefox's flexibility)

-----

Case in point: vimium only works in chrome by loading a custom javascript file (basically how all chrome extensions work). Which means if a page errors on loading, that tab doesn't get vimium bindings. Which is quite annoying when flipping through tabs, only to stop at the error'd tab and have to use the mouse to get off that tab and continue flipping.

-----

I agree that this is annoying, so instead of using the vimium tab-switch bindings I use the standard chromium tab-switch keyboard shortcuts (no mousing is necessary)
