I believe we need to practice critical thinking through actual effort. Doing arithmetic by hand and working through problems ourselves builds intuition in ways that shortcuts can't. I'm grateful I grew up without LLMs, as the struggle to organize and express my thoughts on paper developed mental muscles I still rely on today. Some perspiration is necessary for genuine learning—the difficulty is actually part of the value.
Critical thinking is not a generic/standalone skill that you can practise targetedly. As in, critical thinking doesn't translate across knowledge domains. To think critically you need extensive knowledge of the domain in question; that's one reason why memorizing facts will always remain necessary, despite search engines and LLMs.
At best what you can learn specifically regarding critical thinking are some rules of thumb such as "compare at least three sources" and "ask yourself who benefits".
Feels like some kind of astroturfing. I found it very sad seeing how many people had interacted with the posts on good faith. How are we going to deal with this kind of engagement farming in our online communities going forward? Do we need AIs looking for other AIs and flagged accounts?
Hey yeah (i'm JT) we built it from the ground up using Pixi. We went that route because so many of the existing libraries were limited in their extensibility, stuff like our model visualizations, inline ai, and customizing the formula lang to handle things like dot notation weren't possible. It's got a long way to go but I'm proud of how far the team has taken it.
We're working on it, I'm hoping we can get an integration in sometime next week! If you want to track progress on it would recommend joining our Discord.
To clarify - by "it", I mean making Letta agents an MCP client, so that you can easily connect to MCP servers as tools (not the other way around, where Letta itself is an MCP server - if you want that, someone in the community already made one: https://github.com/oculairmedia/Letta-MCP-server)
Totally serious question: is MCP basically an in-joke right now? I mean, I know what it is. I just don’t know why I’m seeing it everywhere in the last 3 days?
I'm also not really sure what's going on with the hype wave atm (people like having things to hype?) since MCP has also been around for a bit, seems like a bit of a meme.
IMO, the main value (as an agent / AI developer) that you get from MCP is another style of tool repository. Similar to how it's nice to have pre-made tools (eg Composio), MCP servers are another repo of tools to pull from (you just need to add MCP client functionality to your agent loop). So if a ton of energy is going into building MCP servers, might as well add MCP client support so that you can take advantage of the additional tools.
Probably people are excited about the prospect of having this problem be solved so that we can focus more on getting the agents to work rather than all be reimplementing the same data fetchers/parsers etc.

The Master Control Program (MCP) ... is the main digital antagonist of the first Tron film.
I have mostly left social media, but I have not seen the need to delete my accounts yet. For Twitter, I never use the feed but rather bookmark links to one specific account that I read. Facebook I open about twice a month just to see if I have been invited to a birthday party or anything like that. Instagram I just went 7 weeks without opening.
Turning off the machine feeding stuff to my brain really has helped me. I feel better, cleaner and less disturbed/distracted.
Now I am actually considering leaving YouTube as well, although it has been such a lovely place at times, since I notice it is deteriorating my health.
I recommend you try it; nothing has to be deleted. It's simply removing the habit of using it. It does make life a bit better :)
Oh, and a good first step is to install the extension `News Feed Eradicator`. This is how I got started. I run it on everything.
NoNameScript was extremely inspiring in that regard. Not to mention the color theme of Brevduva Script.
Good times!
