Norm Macdonald IS funny though....

He said he didn't do political jokes, except this one, from 2016:

"Americans hated Hillary Clinton so much, they voted for someone they hated even more."

WAS funny. Apparently he died. I didn't even know he was sick.

The problem seems to be that a certain tribe of always online far-right leaning sociopaths have decided MacDonald is one of them.

He wasn't.

I am being charitable with this assessment, too.

MacDonald was extremely funny, even if you were liberal. His comedy was not political, and maybe that is kind of the appeal to conservative leaning people - some kind of "retro" appeal. If you are wondering what I am getting at, read the book, "The Compleat Practical Joker" from 1953.

I'm a huge Norm fan. Having watched his many interviews, seen and listened to his stand-up, seen his podcast and netflix show many times, I can say that he was clearly quite conservative, though not a bigot or hateful.

There's also more to the story here. Not that it's in any way justified, bur this guy's wasn't targeted only because he tweeted about Norm Macdonald.

This is worthwhile to address. Norm was a conservative, for sure. There's nothing wrong with that.

There is something wrong with anti-social (or sociopathic) behavior. That behavior is not associated with conservatism any more than it is with liberalism. I've known hardcore punks who you'd think would end up solid democratic voters, but nah. It's not so simple.

Norm was not a sociopath, nor someone who was a poisonous partisan or tribalist, as near as we can tell. It wasn't in his comedy, it wasn't in his personal life from what people say.

He wasn't part of the "tribe" which is swatting this family. These people feel he was part of their little tribe, is what I am saying. And they are wrong. He's wasn't.

> These people feel he was part of their little tribe, is what I am saying.

I think this is an invention on your part. While his comments about Norm MacDonald may have been the inciting incident, the continued harassment of Tomlinson has little to do with them.

This podcast runs through the story, if you're interested: https://www.blockedandreported.org/p/episode-164-the-torture... (starting around 39 minutes)

It's definitely not an invention. Whether it's related to this particular case is up for debate, but it's sadly true.

I mean I'm sure they exist somewhere, but parent was talking about "these people" being the group swatting Patrick Tomlinson and I don't think that's the case.

We don't really know if he was a conservative because he was always doing a bit. The only thing we know for sure about him is that he was a deeply closeted gay fella.

I agree with everything you wrote. There really are nutty right wingers who want to "claim" Norm.

Ya right now I find that it's best at non-development use cases, and not everyone really has those.... I'll start posting them daily though to see if it inspires anyone.

Also, grok bot usage is terrible. That's in my opinion though... simple tasks, consumes too much usage. I feel like using a local model is much better, run it through hermes. It'll serve better, you have unlimited usage too.

i've heard people experiencing that... I'm on the Cursor Pro+ plan, use it fairly extensively, and haven't gone above 30% of my usage. It's possible they've been resetting and I haven't been noticing.

the ability to choose models. there's a little bit of that with cursor cloud code or whatever they call it when dev work is farmed out, but it's not as configurable.

so much easier, so much less nerd foo....

It's hard to keep up with the pace of everything but looking at this site it seems like the Ollama people launched it? Or are they just purposely imitating everything about Ollama. Seems pretty infringey.

Hmm maybe I should get a steam deck to do something similar.....

Get your steam deck to run new 3ds xl games

My current strategy is to skip ads and skip any name that is just a jumble of letters. But the garbage producers are getting so good with AI they can create entire websites with US addresses and pictures of buildings and employees and none of it is real.

I use the term sandbox loosely. They're on a VPS running as user hermes but they share everything with each other in their own user space. I could/should probably improve this. Maybe make them their own unix user. They are separated from the root-access agent.

Obsidian is like the shared knowledge base that everyone has access to and that I can easily read/review (although I try not to too often). It has architecture stuff, go-to-market section, howtos (setting up new agents, dns backups, etc.), info on my main projects, writing, etc. It gets synced between my machine and the VPS. I also store in github as a backup occasionally (thx for reminder!).

I use the actual Buzz ios app which I was building on my own but at first glance it appears is now in the iOS store.

It depends on what you mean by sensitive personal data. I actually don't give any agents access to my main email boxes instead they access a business google workspace that is spinning up.

I do separate the agents duties somewhat to try and give them the least privileges they need to do a job, and talk to all of them through buzz, and they talk to each other (occasionally) when they need something they don't have access to.

As mentioned in the post I still do a majority of my coding at my local terminal with just bits and pieces sent to my "dev-agent" through Buzz. This is a next experiment for me - (that's a hyphen!) to offload more coding to agents.
