What would you suggest as the title of this post?

-----

k-mcgrady 104 days ago | link

Something along the lines of "Check which apps have permission to your social media accounts"

-----

stevoo 104 days ago | link

Not catchy enough ... i wouldnt have clicked on that title.

-----

k-mcgrady 104 days ago | link

I'd rather not have link-bait titles as I'm less likely to click those.

It was submitted by a "growth hacker" from the same venture firm that invested in MyPermissions. Better to submit with a link bait title now and have it changed by an admin than to submit with a proper title and never see the front page.

@benjlang Arbitrary or sensationalist titling is generally frowned upon on this site.

I haven't worked at that VC firm for a few months now... I submitted this because I thought it would be useful for the HN community.

I thought this title got the point across, before clicking the link, I knew it would lead me to a page that will show me the knowledge on how to remove apps from social platforms.

Might be a bit hard as a Syrian citizen...

Not surprised that James Altucher wrote the most shared post ever on TechCrunch, excellent writer. Very useful tool, thanks for sharing it.

Not to discredit Altucher, but I'd be willing to bet the fact the title starts with "10 reasons..." helped to some degree.

Incidentally, I find hard to take seriously an article that enumerates things these days; too many blogs are doing this for the sake of getting page views (which works, but the resulting quality is often questionable, I'm looking at you Business Insider and Mashable)

Thanks for the vote of confidence. We think its a great tool too. There is much to wait for with additional insights that we are thinking about.

Would love to get feedback from the community about which other types of information and analysis they would like to see.

I'm just hoping that once this conflict ends eventually all of these bombs, rockets etc. won't be used to attack other countries in the region (i.e. Israel)

-----

vellum 414 days ago | link

Doubt it. They're getting a lot of weapons from other countries that have just had civil wars, like Iraq and Libya. When this is over, the weapons will probably make their way to the next country undergoing an Arab Spring movement.

Incredible ...

-----

Yes, brilliant.

Have you sent this post to Mark Zuckerberg using this tactic?
