There's also http://github.com/arnemart/slid.js (disclosure: I wrote this)

No fancy transitions, but does not need ncurses and supports syntax highlighting and images.

This can be avoided by just not using JSX. The React DOM API is not really that hard to use.

-----

Its not hard, but it is rather verbose :(

-----

It's pretty concise using Coffeescript: http://blog.vjeux.com/2013/javascript/react-coffeescript.htm...

As @dugmartin mentioned, it's really quite nice if you are using coffeescript. It ends up resembling templating in a lisp, something akin to hiccup for example.

I imagine a similar effect can be had with ES6 destructuring assignment, just with more commas and mandatory array brackets.

Very nice! I have made one as well[1], it is based on Markdown and not nearly as fancy.

Mostly it's just annoying.

"Will Betteridge's law be mentioned if this headline is submitted to Hacker News?"

Stevens talk at Full Frontal was absolutely fantastic, one of the best I have ever seen. I highly recommend watching the video once it comes out. It is very impressive to see such complex topics being presented with such ease and style.

This was done as a lightning talk the night before the Web Rebels conference in Oslo in May. I was there, and Magnar completely killed it. Awesome stuff.

That sounds very promising. Do you have a time frame for this release?

I among others will work on the dev-jqueryui branch in June. I hope we will manage to stabilize it and merge it to dev in this time.

It should be noted that we plan to make the ui an optional part of Aloha (with default being a jqueryui implementation) to make it easier to integrate into existing systems. The heavy extjs dependency is part of why Aloha is so huge.

I also plan to look into using google closure compiler in ADVANCED_OPTIMIZATION mode to shrink the size to the absolute minimum.

Yes, it works beautifully* on iOS5.

* For a given value of “beautiful”
