Also worth noting that Prey (2006) started development in 1995.

There are a handful of videos from E3 (97 or 98) showing off the original 3DRealms development of Prey. One of the things that didn't survive into Human Head's version on the Doom3 engine was rotating portals, or if they did they were rare that I don't remember them.

If you mean literally you can only bring them half way together, try just moving twice as far away.

See the note at the end of the article. It’s a real number but with some of the digits in the middle edited out of the recording.

Yes! This is what I concluded when, a few years back, I did a similar analysis to what matthiasl posted. <shameless plug> If you're interested in this kind of thing, please check out my book, Exploding the Phone. https://explodingthephone.com </shameless plug>

It’s often wrong anyway. Much like you, the thing that annoys me most about it though is all the power they must be using having it run on every single search by anyone.

Great work. When sending a video to someone else, how is the sound created - does your app convert the midi to audio with its built-in piano sound?

I assume it is using built-in sound. But of course, you could play saved midi on your keyboard and save that audio if using some specific sounds.

It’s only just come out, not many have played it yet.

Microwaves that are just time and power setting, cooktops that are just four knobs, ovens that are just mode and heat, maybe a simple timer… I’d buy those too.

I suppose thinner people do probably walk their dogs more often…

It’s a parody of the writing style of the article itself, all excitement and noise, saying little to nothing.
