Doesn't help that the average attitude of people here of mental health is that it doesn't exist.

My family used to believe, adn they still do, that the only reason you'd go to psychiatrist is because you're "weird" and that only crazies who belong in mental hospital go there...

It is still the same. :(

I think they only pushed away the issue.

In the end according to polls he was leading them in second turn. You can't come back as a society from this. :|

If this was Norway or any country where people have some trust in govt, it'd be one thing. But Romanian society has (mostly rightly) reasons to not trust PSD and other major parties. And what does this tell them? That they were right. :(

No, they had to take a decision quickly and they took it. They knew that one side will cry foul, but the alternative would have been worse. Before you start mocking those ignorant low-trust eastern europeans, notice that a similar thing happened in Austria in 2016 where an election outcome was cancelled on illegal campaign financing grounds.

i am myself Eastern European too, I'm Polish :<

Yes, one of the common pastimes of eastern europeans is being very critical of themselves and their countries, sometimes missing that others have largely the same problems, but with better press.

I remember reading about this in the past, but wasn't the main reason for this his syphilis and not the typewriter?

Also, it's very unlikely that Calculus will be the only subject you're taking. Other subjects require homework too.

As long as it's equal and not sexist.

Why should I have to sacrifice a year or two of my life being bullied and abused, while in my country women get to retire five years earlier?

Biology

And in which case a society that accepts this is bound to open Pandora's box.

That is how every society was pretty recently, how is that a Pandoras box? We know exactly what that looks like.

What comes out of the box?

If I see a helicopter that crashed down on a tree, I can say something is wrong even if I don't have license for flying.

If you had to elbow your way trough a big crowd to actually see the crash, positing "A crash!" on social media is not an useful service for anyone.

Possibly true, but it doesn't mean you can talk about the competency of the pilot(s), either.

Also as much as it pains to say, 30-35k Euro is high salary there. :(

I tried Claude to translate basic text to Finnish for me and it was utterly horrible.

And by basic I mean grammar structure that was taught in like first chapters of a textbook.

Is ChatGPT any better at it? My take is that there simply aren't enough training materials.

On a local Polish forum I use a "Polish Pole patriot" that has been espousing pro-Russian views posted an picture of himself... in a Russian time zone ;)
