I totally agree with you. Product Hunt was once the place to launch, but let's face it, these days you launch on it but you can't expect much. There's too much competition and the competition is not fair.

You're right, the idea behind playlist is an aggregation of multiple feeds. On your playlist (or other's) you can bookmark articles, add notes to the articles. And I'm currently thinking about adding some options for filtering, I don't know if this would be useful to people yet.
And about the ability to export a playlist in a RSS format, this is a great question, actually this is the next feature I'm planning to add. I was thinking about this a lot but never got any confirmation that this would be useful or not. Maybe Symfoz would be a great aggregator but not so much a great reader, I guess it depends for people.
