It looks pretty awesome, but Linode is not listed in the deploy option.

And yeah, security would be an issue for me. I would most likely set up a user just for DeployButton.

I'm not sure what you're seeing, but Linode is right under Heroku on the right side "your web server" list.

Yeah, but when I try to set up a deploy button...

SSH is what you're looking for.

Love the Ketchup chips. <3

Done and done.

I would love something like this for Python (Flask) and Node.js.

Andrey,

I'm in the same boat - I'm trying to work on a startup but I need advice and motivation from peers who I can talk to in an environment which isn't impersonal.

I have to agree that an IRC channel would be awesome (#startups simply doesn't work for me).

I've jumped into the "Solo Startup Doers" event you created.

P.S. I do know of your app.

I have to agree with acostoss on several of his/her points.

In addition, your footer doesn't completely cover the page - http://i.imgur.com/nHcrl.png

Also, you don't have a favicon.

-----

I didn't realize that, on my system it shows fine so it must be a problem with certain browsers. I will get that part fixed. Thanks!

Here's an example of a live site - http://feber.se/dsf

Huh, that doesn't work for me. I tried both Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on OS X. I don't see any content from notfound.org (ie, their little iframe) in the source of the 404 page at all.

-----

I actually faced a similar problem and I ended up writing an almost identical script which generated a JSON or XML file (depending on the user's need).

-----

To combat people promoting their own tutorials and stuff, just have them include a short snippet as to what that resource concerns that others don't - what makes that resource worth visiting/reading?

-----

I think that is valuable for sure, but I'd add that I would not have contributions via pull requests in this case. The reason is that there is some expectation when you go through the trouble of forking, cloning, editing, pushing back to the fork, and doing a pull request that your contribution will be accepted, and it very likely may not, which will result in anger, which is not a good thing.

-----

This is exactly the sort of thing I am concerned about. Definitely don't want it to be a place to piss people off.

Thanks for the reply

Hmmm. I don't know if its just me, but if I go to the Legal or About pages (though the links in the footer) while logged in, I get taken to the Welcome page.

Otherwise, pretty nice.

Will you be implementing a "Theme Library" (think Tumblr) where designers can share themes if it takes off?

I can't see a future for plugins if you want to keep it the "cleanest blogging platform."

Edit:

I just saw your comment where you said that you're not the developer - I guess you can't fix those bugs and address those questions...
