Comma splices are not an improvement.

Well, in Russian language it is typical to use a lot of commas, because we don't have the requirement of queuing Subject + Verb as analytical languages do.

> but even developers of the more recent DOOM games have started to realize that they should return to the original formula of "blast zombies in the face at high speed, and keep plot as window dressing"

There's still a lot of chatter breaking the continuity. In the original, the plot was entirely made up of what you were experiencing directly.

In the ending of the original game, you kill the demon spider brain robot thing and the demons kill your bunny rabbit. That's the plot

It's not a grammar mistake. It's faulty logic.

A guy once wrote a whole book about that. Unfortunately he started randomly killing people.

I don't condone what he did, but...

1. His intention wasn't to destroy in order to build resilience.

2. His targets weren't random.

He saw a tech-dependent society as being fragile. Towards the end of the book he talked about subverting the current system which he clearly wanted to destroy before it got out of hand.

I was going for something more like a well-timed stress test, and less like a program of willful destruction.

I'm dense. Who are you two talking about?

Unabomber

ChipWizard is the updated version and it's in Last Call BBS (from Zachtronics).

It's not clear if you mean #1 in quality or popularity. I'll assume you mean the latter. Is Windows really that unstable?

I meant popularity. My brand new Win11 laptop freezes or crashes all the time. My relatives laptops too. It's slower every year, even on high-end hardware.

"New" Windows laptops have always crashed unless you carefully purchase your units carefully and generally remove any manufacture trash installed with them. Consumer laptops are especially bad. Meanwhile I've purchased and supported thousands of business grade laptops with a much lower rate of incidents, but they are typically more conservative with the cutting edge hardware and have better bios/uefi support.

Maybe a hardware defect.

I’ve been running windows 11 on a couple of pcs for at least a year and never seen it crash once.

Recommend using an AME Wizard playbook to decrapify it

based on AME Wizard

What they do. There are long-term goals and short-term goals (convenience etc.) Society pressures you into having long-term goals even if you don't do anything about them.

How can you get around Rust's lack of a stable ABI?

The same way as in other ecosystems that lack it, compile everything with the same toolchain.

And then you have to recompile everything every time you upgrade the toolchain.

Which is what you already have to do in Rust anyway, as the compilation hashes are bound to the toolchain.

And the bit before it:

> The results indicate that certain listening habits differ significantly between the neurotypical and ADHD-screened groups. The ADHD-screened group reports significantly more background music listening during less cognitive activities and while studying, compared to the neurotypical group.

I don't think it's an interesting conclusion, so maybe the GP is looking for something more substantial.

I dont know what other conclusion to a study like this one could possibly want. Either ADHD affects if you like listening to music when doing other tasks or it doesn't.
