Computer Science borrows methodologies from a variety of disciplines. It certainly uses empirical methods as well as proof due to its roots in mathematics & logic. I don't think you can get much more 'sciency' than that. Sub-disciplines like HCI use methodologies validated in psychology and social sciences.

If you have any doubts please browse a few back issues of 'Communications of the ACM'.




The only disciplines that are supposed to be called sciences are those that use the scientific method.
